The elegant frilly leaves of Endive Olesh Tres Fine have have a mild yet sharp flavor that adds color, texture, and taste. It turns any ordinary salad into an upscale gourmet mesclun mix. Also called frisee, endive's beautiful lacy leaves have a mildly bitter flavor that blends well with other greens. You can also grow endive in the flower garden for an exquisite ornamental.

When to plant outside: RECOMMENDED. The key to success is to have endive mature in cool or warm weather, but NOT hot weather. Sow in very early spring, 4-6 weeks before the average last frost. DO NOT start in late spring. For a fall crop, sow in summer, 8-10 weeks before the first fall frost (you may need to shade seedlings). Endive will withstand light frosts. In mild climates (USDA zones 8 or warmer), sow in fall for winter harvest.
