Poppy Bread Seed Organic Seed
Papaver - somniferum

Annual. Blooms late spring. 3' tall. Full sun. These fluttery lavender flowers with crepe-like blooms dance with every spring breeze and add a magical touch to the late spring garden. You can save the large dried seedpods for dried floral arrangements or crafts --- or use them as 'poppy seed shakers' and sprinkle out the periwinkle blue seeds for baking and decorating. The seeds are a baker's delight in breads, cakes, muffins, and bagels.

When to plant outside: RECOMMENDED. Sow in early spring, 2-4 weeks before the average last frost.

When to start inside: Seedlings do not transplant well. If you start them indoors, use peat pots and plant directly into the ground. Sow 6 weeks before transplanting outside.

Special Germination Instructions: Seeds require light to germinate. Surface sow and press into soil lightly.
